Description

A big congatulations to the club's only representative in the 100 mile TT championships. Derek McMillan flew the flag for St. Christophers and did us proud. His time of 4 hours 31 minutes and 8 seconds was good enough for 14th spot, not bad considering it was his first attempt.

Well done Derek, the weekly Tuesday night TT will just be a doddle now!!!

46 Tue, Oct 26th 2010, 21:51 75th Anniversary run

Well a cold frosty morning did not deter the brave souls who took part in the anniversary run.

A good route through through the lanes soon heated everyone up. A gentle jaunt down to the outskirts of Lanark and along the Clyde valley where a 3 course meal was waiting. Ian Hughes was hungry when we left E/K so I don't know how he survived till Hamilton. Anyhow it was good to see some well kent faces when we arrived at Chatelherault Inn. The only diadvantage about the meal was having to lug all that extra weight up the hills out of Hamilton back to E/K, I know that was my excuse for a pitiful pace up the final hill.

Please see the gallery for a few pics on the day

32 Thu, Aug 5th 2010, 13:47 Andy was robbed Well Done to Andy Wilson who was robbed of a prize at the Stirling Wheelers 10 TT on Wednesday night. Andy done a great ride in very windy conditions and should of came 1st in his category however they forgot to subtract Andy's start time from his finishing time, therefore adding 3 minutes. It was all sorted in the end but only after everyone had left! View Edit

57 Mon, Apr 11th 2011, 12:26 Auldhouse League 2011

The Auldhouse league will be starting up again on Tuesday 19th April. The meeting point will be the usual spot on Langlands Drive in the Kelvin Industrial Estate. So we can finish when it's still light we will start at 7PM. Due to the continual problems with the roads around Auldhouse we will be using the slightly shorter route i.e. the same route that was used for most of last year. The first two weeks are used to get use to the course and for Jack to workout his infamous handicap system. You can find out more on the Auldhouse page. As always new faces are always welcome.

10 Tue, Mar 9th 2010, 22:08 Club AGM

The recent AGM was very well attended and a great deal of club business was pushed through. Below are listed the main points of the evening.

  1. The treasurer reported that while the club wasn't rollng in cash we had a reasonable bank balance and a healthy supply of club kit to be sold.
  2. The race secretary confirmed the Willie Rafferty memorial 10 on 2nd June and the club currently had 16 BCF memberships with a licence to race.
  3. The new committee was voted in with one major change, Jack Robertson stood down from the chairmans job a position he had held for many years. Colin Gillespie was voted in as the new chairman. Jack was retained in an Honourary presidents position. The members thanked Jack for all his hard work over the years. The new committee is Colin Gillespie as Chairman, Andy Wilson as Treasurer, Mike Devlin as Race Secretary and David Turner as Secretary.
  4. The winter TT dates and venues are, 7th Feb at Auldhouse 7th March A77 11th April A77 The first man is off at 11am on all dates.
  5. The Auldhouse league will start on 20th April. The confined 10 on 10th June on the A77 The hill climb was brought forward to 19th September. * Keith felt he was off form in November , God help us all*
  6. Subscriptions to stay at £15 and are due now 7. This year is the club's 75th anniversary and we are looking for ideas to celebrate. One suggestion was a 75 mile run with as many clubs as possible with a drum up into the bargain.
  7. The club website will change this year as IT geeks Alan Rutherford and Colin Meikle have been given a free hand to develop it to their high standard.
