July has turned out to be a busy month with races on most weekends. I’ve noted two potential dates and need some response as to your preferred option. This weekend (17th), which is short notice and there are a few racing on Saturday. The 24th is the Dales 10 and there is a free Sunday on the 30th (again with some racing on the Saturday). Let me know who’s doing the Dales event as that is the best option (depending on numbers) of if your preferred option is the 30th.

Lance Armstrong dropping hints of a twitterride on Monday - only drawback is it's in the Sutherland region.

Mandy, is that you. Rumour has it you sold your bike to fund a camping holiday in Tibet. That was thought to be the reason for no one seeing you since early April.

Nice to see they have wi fi in Tibet though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was agreed on Tuesday night that the July Club Run would be on the 31st. The majority present wanted the 3 ferries so that’s what’s planned. I’ll post times and route shortly – remember that those who are not sure about the distance there are plenty of alternative routes.

It’s Summer again and here comes the 3-Ferries club run. As with last year, the aim is for a good day out, so lets try to have a big turnout – all are welcome (members or not – just drop me a note on the forum page) and there are routes to match everyone as you don’t want to miss out on the cakes at Etrrick Bay… ;)

Details of the 3-ferries July Club Run for the 31st are as follows:
Meet at the Lunderston Bay Car Park (see link below) for between 08:00 and 8:20 (leaving at 8:30), aiming for the 09:30 ferry. For those unable to see the map, the car park is on the A770 (Cloch Rd) 1.2 mls from the junction with the A78 (Inverkip Rd) near Ardgown and Inverkip.
Cycle to the ferry (Western Ferry) at McInroy’s Point
Ferry: McInroy’s Point – Hunters Quay (09:30 – 10:00)
Cycle from Dunoon up A815 to Srachur, A886 down to Leanach, coast road to Otter Ferry, minor road over the Cruach na Tarbh (Mandy you’ll remember this one as ‘Frog Hill’) then down the A886 to Colintraive – 48 mls. (there are shorter versions missing out the climb from Otter Ferry, straight down the A886 to Colintraive – 43 mls. or from Dunoon via Glen Lean with a climb over to Auchenbreck – 20 mls,)
Ferry: Colintraive – Rhubadach (Bute) (13:30 – 13:35)
Cycle from Rhubadach to Etrrick Bay Café – 8 mls.
After several cakes, coffee's and paddle in the water!
Cycle round Bute on the A844 to Rothesay – 20 mls. (shorter versions are around 5 to 10 mls).
Ferry: Rothesay to Wemyss Bay (16:45 – 17:20)
5mls cycle back up to the car near Inverkip.

The total run is about 85 mls (or 70 mls without the cycle round Bute or with shorter mainland runs 45 to 65 mls).
see link below for maps of the routes...

Let me know if you can make it so I can have an idea on numbers etc and what run you wish to do. I'll give out appropriate maps.

Well I'm sure you are all dry, well fed and now sitting there desperate for the next club run. Well fear not as I have a treat in store for you with the next one…
Even though the weather was foul I still enjoyed the run and the well deserved cakes at the café in Bute. However I now need a new pair of shorts after the descent of ‘FROG HILL’…
